I’m Glad You’re Here
Stuck in Same Old Patterns?
It feels like no matter how much you try to change, you end up in the same place — the same arguments, the same worries, the same sense of “why does this keep happening?” Whether it’s in your relationships or how you relate to yourself, it can be exhausting to be caught in a loop.
Therapy is a space to slow down and start seeing those patterns more clearly — where they come from, what they’re protecting you from, and how they might be holding you back. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface and find new ways of relating that feel more open, grounded, and free.
You don’t have to keep repeating the same story. Change starts with noticing — and you don’t have to do it alone.
LGBTQ+ Couples Counseling
I specialize in Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) for LGBTQ+ couples. This "bottom-up" model prioritizes the deep, hidden emotions driving the dreadful pattern you and your partner find yourself stuck in again and again. The "same old" arguments will sound different as we gently soften and untangle the core wounds that need to be compassionately tended to.
You and your partner will begin to see the longing behind the defenses.

Individual Counseling through Attachment Theory
My individual therapeutic approach is grounded in attachment-based theory, recognizing that all humans have deep attachment fears, needs, and longings. When those fears, needs, and longings aren't tended to, we go into a state of panic, giving rise to patterns of pain, fear, and disconnection.
We will work together to identify these patterns and soothe the panic, creating a sense of security and safety. You'll start to feel less stuck and more grounded in yourself, breaking free from the pattern of distress.
Meet Anna
Hello! I'm Anna, a queer therapist located in Charleston, SC. I could not ask for a more rewarding job — I love what I do and I'd love to be part of your journey. My therapy approach is all about connection — uncovering a deeper connection to yourself and your happiness, and cultivating a deeper, trusting connection with others.
Although originally from upstate South Carolina, I've lived in Charleston since 2015. I received a B.A. in Psychology from The College of Charleston and a Masters in Clinical Counseling from The Citadel.
Outside of the office, I enjoy living the laid back low-country lifestyle with my wife and our two dogs.
In my therapy practice, I foster a warm, welcoming environment where LGBTQ+ individuals feel seen, heard, and respected, ensuring a safe space necessary to navigate relationship challenges, strengthen communication, and foster deeper understanding and connection.
Being queer myself, I understand the importance of offering a space where you are not only welcome, but deeply understood. We will work through an affirming lens that sees gender, sexuality, and relationship diversity as valid and meaningful. My approach is grounded, empathetic, and collaborative, because healing starts when you truly feel seen.
